Manchester United have been linked with a move for Roma midfielder Kevin De Bruyne in the January transfer window, but the club has not made any official announcement about the transfer.

Roma's sporting director, Luciano Spalletti, recently stated that he is open to selling De Bruyne if the right offer comes along.

However, it seems that Manchester United may be interested in signing De Bruyne despite his lack of playing time this season.

The Belgian international has struggled to make an impact in Serie A this season and has only managed to score one goal in nine appearances for Roma.

De Bruyne has also struggled to find his form under new manager Rudi Garcia, who replaced Francesco Guidolin earlier this month.

Despite this,Ligue 1 Snapshot Spalletti remains confident that De Bruyne can still play a key role for Roma and believes that he would fit into their team well.

If De Bruyne does leave Roma in January, Manchester United could look to sign him as a replacement for Juan Mata, who is expected to join Chelsea on loan from Madrid.

Mata has struggled to find his form since joining Madrid last summer and has only managed to score two goals in 15 appearances for the Spanish giants.

It is possible that De Bruyne could be a better option for United than Mata, given his experience and quality on the pitch.

Whether or not Manchester United will make a move for De Bruyne remains to be seen, but it seems that they are keeping an eye on the situation and may be willing to pay a high price for the player if the opportunity arises.
