Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced that he is leaving the club after being sold to Manchester United for €275m.
Ibrahimovic, who joined Inter from AC Milan in 2014, scored 66 goals in his first season at the Serie A club, but his form dropped off in subsequent seasons and he struggled to break through as a top scorer at the club.
After struggling with injuries throughout the season, Ibrahimovic was sold to Manchester United for €275m last summer, and it appears that the striker will miss out on playing for Inter this season.
"I am disappointed to announce my departure from Inter Milan," Ibrahimovic said in a statement released by the club. "It is not something I expected, but unfortunately it is also not something I can change."
Ibrahimovic has been one of Inter's most consistent strikers over the years, scoring more than 80 goals in all competitions during his time at the club. He has become one of Inter's best players, having won numerous awards including the Ballon d'Or in 2017.
Ibrahimovic's departure leaves Inter without a star player in their midfield, as they have struggled to find a replacement for him since his arrival in January 2019.
